There won't be another for probably 10 years.

TWOC if you want ernie to come just say Stephen Harper will give the opening speech and he'll show up with a whoopie cushion hooked up to an airhorn.

I loved the fact that when harpoon made a speech at Richview Collegiate's reunion, people mostly ignored him and continued talking amongst themselves.
Ernie, I'll even buy you drinks! DrinkS, not drink! (I'm a rich hippie, at least rich by hippie standards, as I have not one, but two pots to pee in. AND, they're both indoors.) |

You mean the 50th? Probably not...karma's a bitch and most of mine has its roots at DMCI

I'm lucky... I think. My demonic family overshadows my teenage angst. I think I actually enjoyed high school, but maybe I just killed a lot of brain cells
over the years and have forgotten how horrible it was.

....I hope that the reunion goes okay, WOC.....I've been to two and they have been okay but nothing world shattering....I have kept in touch with a fair
number of people from those days at some point over the past 30 years so no great surprises at the reunions....
people seem nicer or, at least, act that way .....and, yes, high school was pretty bad at times especially in Grade 9 and 10....no false nostalgia there for me, it just seems so far away.... |

I went to the school's 25th anniversary and was disappointed at how few people were there that I knew, so I know not to expect much. I lost touch with
people as the years went by while I was trying to escape my toxic mother.
A comment from someone on the Facebook page for the reunion: "You may be surprised how much better some of us are as people as we've gotten older and not as judgemental as some may have been back in high school." Hopefully, that is true for all of us. I'll be in Toronto for a little over two weeks, so the reunion won't be my only focus. |

....I think that the reunions around the time that you are 40 years old are probably the most interesting....most people are hooked up with somebody and likely
have had any children, if they're going to have any....probably set on a career....changes do come afterwards but a lot of one's life and personality
are set...
...my mother decided not to go to a recent high school reunion after learning that she probably would have been the oldest woman there....everybody dead or in nursing homes from her time at high school....RIP Class of 1939..... |

Ernie, since you aren't going to the reunion, if you come to the Dodger and correctly answer skill-testing questions to authenticate the veracity of your
heritage, I'll buy all your drinks, and at least one drink for everyone else who shows (I say at least one drink, just in case 20 people show).
Don Mills! Don Mills is the school we honour and cheer (fight, fight, fight!)! Omnia per scientiam and all that. If Tiki and Tequila Sheila show, I will buy them each as many drinks as Tequila Sheila can consume (and given a handle like "Tequila Sheila", I know I may be taking on a lot).

...."Demonic in Don Mills" has a nice ring to it....sounds like a Canadian made horror film from the late 1970's with some American B level
actors like John Saxon or Beau Bridges starring and at least someone from SCTV in a minor role...
