deficits and emplyment above 10% for a couple of years might help...

You know my theory on Bob Rae's election victory was there had been deficits for years and people realized taxes were going up so they voted "tax anyone but me", and that ment the NDP for the average person. The $18 billion deficits might lead to more of an NDP vote. It'd be a stretch for them to win again, though.

Three sources told the Star that Flaherty told Tory MPP Ernie Hardeman (Oxford) to "f--- off" because he hadn't supported Elliott.

I guess I should be sending the On. Cons a nice fruit basket for their selction of WhoDat as their leader...I'm sure his plan to wipe out the Human Rights
Board will go over big with women, Viz Mins, Urbanites. sodomites, etcetc....even Harpo saw the light my "Liberalizing" his platform in the last
election in order to woo these groups. With summer here, perhaps WhoDat should sign up for one of those Outward Bound trips...me thinks he could use the
training since he'll likley be spending a good deal of his political life in the wilderness

I think Elvid has the point. There is going to be another deficit rumble. At this time we are waiting for the economy to turn around and the problem of the
deficit hasn't sunk in. It's coming. Politically, anything can happen. Good post Elvid.

Well for starters Dalton hasn't ordered the OPP to go shoot aboriginals. I haven't died from drinking tainted water and my kids
haven't missed a day of school due to a teachers strike and they do better in smaller class sizes. Perhaps you prefer the good ole days of confrontation
and conflict, but personally I'm content to let Dalton quietly and responsibly manage this province in the best interest of the majority of Ontarians

Opps, we've got another provincial fiasco in the newspapers. The Ontario government has declined all the proposals to build more nuclear plants in Ontario.
All of them. They say the only one to meet the specs was AECL, AECL was too expensive ($7,000 a kw) and that the future of AECL is questionable because Harper
is thinking of privatizing it. Is this the way business works or is Dalton part of the problem?
