How about the business section? Pay off your credit card bills. The banks charge a lot of fees. Too much debt is not a good thing.

-Star again going on about how cosmopolitan Toronto is...if it is..wouldn't need to talk about it so much..
'Toronto factor' seals the deal for new Raptor

Hedo Turkoglu, who joins the Raptors, and his wife, Banu, are excited about joining Toronto's Turkish
community.

SPORTS REPORTER To the mercenary professional athletes who ply their trades here, Toronto's cozy ethnic neighbourhoods may as well be on Mars and "living" in the city means going from condo to arena to airport to an off-season home. To the newest Raptor, the city's charm is the attraction. Hedo Turkoglu and his wife, Banu, who grew up high school sweethearts in their native Istanbul, should arrive here this week to officially sign a five-year contract worth about $53 million (U.S.) and - in a departure from the norm - it wasn't the money that attracted them. It was the city and what it had to offer. According to sources, Banu Turkoglu, who gave birth to the couple's first daughter earlier this year, is wildly enthusiastic about the significant Turkish population here. The couple appreciates the European flavour of the city and decided lifestyle concerns were enough to opt for the move. "It's a uniquely cosmopolitan and international community and it suits him and his family best," Turkoglu's agent, Lon Babby, said in a conference call last night. "The comfort level was just best in Toronto." Toronto has been a haven for international NBA players dating back to 1995, when one of the starters on the original Raptors team was Zan Tabak of Croatia. |

.....considering the "de-diversifying" of Istanbul during the past century that is kind of an interesting take by the Star....from the 1911
Britannica....maybe Toronto's forerunner as "most diverse city in the world" title...
The number of the population of the city is an uncertain figure, as no accurate statistics can be obtained. It is generally estimated between 800,000 and 1,000,000. The inhabitants present a remarkable conglomeration of different races, various nationalities, divers languages, distinctive costumes and conflicting faiths, giving, it is true, a singular interest to what may be termed the human scenery of the city, but rendering impossible any close social cohesion, or the development of a common civic life. Constantinople has well been described as " a city not of one nation but of many, and hardly more of one than of another." |

No way he ate it...at no time does he raise his hand to his mouth. The hand where the host had been is clearly seen holding the programme so it is clearly no
longer in his hand. No biggie if you're a heathen and don't know what to do with the host, but to lie that you ate it is what has people scratching
their heads

As much as I hate to admit it, Harper could have a defense...as an Evangelical Christian, Harper would be familiar with the host, but whereas Catholics eat the
host as soon as they receieve it, many evangecial churches require parishoners to keep the host in their hand until a certain passage is read aloud and then
everyone scarfs down their bread together. Perhaps that was what Harpo was waiting for.

Hey, if we're worried about what the Catholics think about our elected leaders, are we going to bring back that bit about Paul Martin Jr allowing gay

The issue isn't whether or not he particpated in a religious ritual he shouldn't have. The issue is why did he pocket the Host and then feeel impelled to have his staff lie about it? Very weird |
