"Praxis" is another one I don't get.

I read a few of those articles on Sokal's site - there's a couple of barely abashed po-mo types who insist that the debate is still valid, and those that who had the bad taste to chortle at the affair are just proving how necessary deconstruction really is.

Sokal puts it nicely: "I confess that I'm an unabashed Old Leftist who never quite understood how deconstruction was supposed to help the working class. And I'm a stodgy old scientist who believes, naively, that there exists an external world, that there exist objective truths about that world, and that my job is to discover some of them."
