i'm enlarging and transposing a gauguin polynesian watercolour study(thielska galleriet stockholm)from 16" X25" to 36"X48"....to thin plywood with a pastel wash(my own invention)...fixer...acrylic crafts type paints and a pointy inky black feltish pen......it's got a very chinesey feeling dunno why....colours so redolent to me of art nouveau somehow...spooky floating figures...dog...a pool...some vegetation...a cloud mebbe the suggestion of a backdrop...hope i can nail it even halfway....think i'll wander off to cloverdale paint(bless them) for some free samples of their weirder colours now.
i'm afraid i'm going to find that even a draughtsman would fail if it turns out it's ALL about colour.
