Okay, your edit confused me a little more, here, Billy.

Do they think there is less need to confront this kind of contemptible behaviour here than elsewhere?

So, are you saying we should confront this 'contemptible behaviour'? Or ignore it? I may be wrong, but I don't think we can do both.

Anyway, if you want my personal take on it (just mine--not that of Frankster), for what it's worth, I'm not in favour of censoring Eric's comments, however disgusting I might--and do--find them. As I said, the ezcreeps tend to go after the 'N' word, anyway, so we don't have much say in when/if they will swoop down and delete our posts and even threads where it exists.

But let's just say, for the sake of saying, that we delete this word whenever and as soon as it is used. Do we also delete words like 'mick', 'wop', 'honky', 'chink', 'beaner', 'Newfie' or whatever else have you? How do we decide? Do we make a list of epithets that are acceptable and those which are not? Do we then consider the banning of other words that might offend some people? Perhaps 'cunt', 'cocksucker', or even 'ass'? You may laugh at that last one, but believe me, I was actually part of a site where it was eventually added to the 'banned' list. I had to leave, obviously.

The way I see it, Eric doesn't speak for me. Or you. Or Franksters as a site. He speaks for himself. And he has to live with what he posts. I don't see the need to go on clean-up duty after him, or anyone else. But, again, that is just *my* take. What Frankster will ultimately do will be decided both by weighing the opinions of our posters (perhaps we should have a poll?), as well as an internal discussion/voting within its membership.
