So you believe that Westerners are "buying babies", is that the gist of it? That we adoptive parents in essence get a contract that says ONE BABY, and then hand someone ten grand as consideration for the baby.. is that the gist of it? Or would the entire process be somehow less offensive to you if money did not enter the equation, and if the orphanages and welfare agencies in the Pacific Rim countries which house the kids and care for them -- and in Korea, the foster families which care for them until they are put on the plane -- just got by on whatever they could scrape together? Since you are apparently offended by the process, perhaps taking away a source of the funding for supporting the children until they come to the west would make the entire thing more, erm... palatable to you, n'est-ce pas?
